The New Orleans Saints have a chance to clinch a playoff berth in Week 18. New Orleans will need some help from other teams around the league, but fans are eager to know when the team would play in the postseason if things go their way this weekend.

Are the Saints Still in the Playoffs?

The Saints have not clinched a playoff spot as of writing (Jan. 7).

What Seed Are the Saints?

The Saints are currently the No. 8 seed in the NFC, which would place them outside of the current playoff picture. Only the top seven teams will make the postseason, but New Orleans still has a chance to leapfrog the San Francisco 49ers for a playoff spot.

Due to their record, the Saints can only make the playoffs as the No. 7 seed. That'd mean they would be guaranteed to play on Wild Card Weekend with the five other teams from the conference that did not earn a bye. The No. 1 seed in each conference will not play until the second round.

Saints Playoff Dates

The Saints could earn the last playoff spot in the NFC with a win in Week 18 and a loss by the 49ers. New Orleans would then open the first round of the playoffs on the road against the yet-to-be-determined No. 2 seed.

Wild Card Weekend will feature two games on Saturday, Jan. 15, three games on Sunday, Jan. 16, and one game on Monday, Jan. 17. New Orleans would be assigned one of these three dates if its clinches a playoff spot.

The second round, aka the Divisional Round, will take place from Jan. 22-Jan. 23. That is followed by the conference championship round on Jan. 30. The Super Bowl is scheduled for Feb. 13.

New Orleans' next game is a Week 18 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Jan. 9.
