Updated:
Texas' Bijan Robinson might be the top running back prospect this year, but teammate Roschon Johnson has also earned some well-deserved hype ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. It'll be interesting to see where the Longhorns' No. 2 RB ends up once the three-day event concludes.
Here's everything you need to know about Roschon Johnson heading into the 2023 NFL Draft.

Roschon Johnson Scouting Report
Despite playing behind Robinson, Roschon Johnson managed to grab some attention with his 2022 performance. He turned 93 carries into 554 rushing yards (6.0 yards per carry — No. 6 in Big 12) and 5 touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for another 128 yards with a TD.
Johnson has solid size for a running back, standing six feet tall and weight 219 pounds. He's great at finding holes and exploiting them with his aggressive running tendencies. He's patient and waits for the right block to fall into place before taking off. He'd likely have more hype if he was Texas' lead back.
Nevertheless, Johnson has a couple of weak spots. He isn't the fastest RB, nor does he have enough creative moves to consistently fool defenses. Scouts have also pointed out that he has issues getting back up to speed after coming to a stop. His blocking technique has room for improvement as well.
Roschon Johnson NFL Draft Prediction
Again, Roschon Johnson's limited touch count at Texas is a key reason why he doesn't have more hype. Having said that, all but one of the highlighted mock drafts have him selected in Round 4 or earlier, which includes two experts listing him as a second-rounder.
After parting ways with Ezekiel Elliott this offseason, the Dallas Cowboys are a solid landing spot for Johnson. Although Tony Pollard is the No. 1 RB in town, a powerful No. 2 with some upside would be beneficial. Besides, backups Malik Davis and Ronald Jones are unproven and nothing special, respectively.
The Cowboys have a high-powered offense that Johnson could thrive in. They also registered the NFL's best red-zone scoring percentage in 2022 (71.4%), so adding a goal-line threat like the Texas product would be in their best interest to help continue that trend.
The fact that Johnson was born in and attended school in the Lone Star State only strengthens my prediction.
Prediction: Dallas Cowboys (Round 2, 58th overall)
