Ranking the 5 Best Uniforms in Seahawks History

The Seattle Seahawks aren't an especially old franchise, debuting in 1976, but their aesthetic has already undergone some massive changes over the years. Some of those looks have been more polarizing than others, but it's certainly fair to say that few have been boring, especially in recent years.

With that in mind, here are the five best uniforms in Seahawks history.

5. 2005 White

The early and mid-2000s were not a good time for Seattle's look in general. The blue-on-blue uniforms were among the worst in franchise history, but these white ones weren't bad. Limiting that grey-blue color to accents actually kind of works, and there's just enough green to keep things interesting.

4. 2016 Color Rush Green

These all-green Color Rush jerseys are about as polarizing as it gets, and they probably appear on just as many fans' bottom-5 lists as top-5 lists. The team really started getting unique with their looks in 2012, and even among Color Rush jerseys, this one manages to stand out.

3. 1976 Blue

The Seahawks nailed it with their first-ever home uniform. The body of the jerseys might be a little plain, and the numbers look comically large on Jim Zorn above, but the details are all great. The blue and green stripes being mirrored from the top (in the logo on the helmet) all the way to the bottom (on the socks) works really well on a look that otherwise didn't have much detail.

2. 2012 Blue

The Seahawks got the most drastic change when Nike redesigned the NFL's uniforms in 2012, and it really worked. The 2012 uniforms were a drastic shift from what Seattle had been wearing since 2002, and it came at a perfect time, as the team was undergoing a drastic shift as well. This uniform is synonymous with the Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman era, which included the first Super Bowl win in team history.

1. 2001 Blue

From those first blue uniforms, the Seahawks didn't change much until 2002. The last iteration of that original design was the best. Having the logo on the sleeve stripe makes things a bit less boring, and the removal of the striped socks helps. What really helps set this apart, though, is the blue facemask, which adds some much-needed contrast against the light helmet.
