Phillies vs Astros Prediction & Pick

These two teams have gotten to the World Series in different ways. The Astros have yet to lose a single game in the postseason and have leaned on their pitching staff to get the job done. Houston allowed only 6 earned runs over four games against the Yankees and logged a stellar 50 strikeouts.

The Phillies have relied on their ability to smash the baseball. Philadelphia has racked up 16 home runs across 11 playoff contests and are getting hot at the exact right time. These two teams met for one series during the regular season and it was the Astros that took two out of three games at home.

Houston is just the third team in MLB history to sweep their way to the World Series with a 7-0 start to the postseason. However, the 2007 Colorado Rockies and 2015 Kansas City Royals then failed to capture the trophy. I'll side with the Phillies in what should be an hard-fought series until the very end.
