Panthers vs Commanders Prediction & Pick
The attention is going to be on Mayfield and Wentz here, but this game is likely going to come down to a different QB battle. A battle between two rookie signal-callers. Carolina's Matt Corral and Washington's Sam Howell will see most of the snaps once the starters are taken out of the game.
Corral has put together a few highlight plays during training camp and has the advantage of a veteran running back in his corner (D'onta Foreman). Carolina has also had Washington's number as of late, winning 11 of their last 15 head-to-head matchups. Look for that dominance to continue on Saturday.
Final Score Prediction: Panthers: 21 | Commanders: 17

Panthers vs Commanders Best Bet

It's been interesting to watch this spread move in the favor or Washington. It opened closer to a pick 'em and featured a spread of just one point. It has since ballooned to 2.5 points, which is surprising because the Panthers have a lot more to play for. Motivation at QB will mean a great deal.
Both Mayfield and Darnold are going to do their best early on in this game to prove why they deserve the starting gig. On the other side, Wentz already has that spot locked up for the Commanders. There's a lot to like about Carolina's chances of keeping this one close and even emerging with a win.
Bet: Carolina Panthers +2.5 (-115)
