Packers Get Update on Potential Quay Walker Suspension After Sideline Incident
Updated:
Tensions were running high for the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. Between a pregame exchange between Jaire Alexander and Stefon Diggs, to rookie Quay Walker getting ejected for a sideline incident, Green Bay was visibly frustrated as they fell to 3-5 after a loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Walker addressed his ejection during an emotional postgame interview, and now the league has outlined his potential punishment for the altercation.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that Walker "will be evaluated for a possible fine, not suspension."
This is a relief for Packers nation. The team has a great opportunity to rebound against the Detroit Lions in Week 9, but seeing Walker miss any time would leave the franchise without their second-leading tackler (57).
Green Bay drafted Walker at No. 22 overall back in April, and he's made an immediate impact on the defense. The former Georgia standout currently holds +5000 odds to win Defensive Rookie of the Year award on FanDuel Sportsbook.
