NL Rookie of the Year Odds: Michael Harris and Spencer Strider Dueling in Late August on FanDuel Sportsbook

Updated:

The shakeup of National League Rookie of the Year race was ongoing into mid-July. But over the past month, two Atlanta Braves teammates are dueling and will determine the NL Rookie of the Year down the stretch.

Outfielder Michael Harris (-125) just took over the favorite role ahead of his teammate, pitcher Spencer Strider (-105), in the NL ROY odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Just this week, Harris signed an 8-year, $72 million extension with the Braves.

The 21-year-old was the Braves top prospect, and he was summoned directly from Double-A ball to the majors in May. Harris is batting .288 with 12 HRs and 40 RBI in 74 games, and he also leads all qualified rookies with an .826 OPS. Harris has stolen 15 bases without being caught.

The 23-year-old Strider is pitching to a 3.04 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and in 94 2/3 innings. The rookie has struck out 142 batters, which has him tied for sixth most in the National League. His 13.5 strikeouts per 9.0 innings is the highest by a rookie pitcher in MLB history.

The Atlanta Braves (73-47) are the clear NL Wild Card leader as they chase the New York Mets for the NL East title. Follow the Braves two rookies as they determine the NL Rookie of the Year winner.
