The Netherlands' appearance in 2014 was its most recent prior to this year, The Dutch were able to finish third in that tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will be Netherlands' 12th appearance if the country qualifies.

While the Netherlands has had multiple great finishes in the World Cup, it has never won the whole thing. The Netherlands has finished as the runners-up three times (1974, 1978, 2010).
