NBA Most Improved Player Odds 2021-22: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Leads Michael Porter Jr in Opening Odds on FanDuel
Updated:
The NBA's Most improved player award is usually one where the frontrunner changes a lot throughout the season as some of the stars and top performances emerge.
Last season, Christian Wood and Chris Boucher had strong starts to move up the odds board. But the award saw a big longshot emerge later in the season. Julius Randle was +6500 to win the award in mid-February and +480 by early March. By late March, Randle became the favorite and never looked back in winning the Most Improved Player Award.
Ahead of the 2021-22 NBA season that runs from Oct. 19, 2021 to April 10, 2022, three players have single-digit Most Improved Player odds, Canadian guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+800) of the Oklahoma City Thunder, forward Michael Porter Jr of the Denver Nuggets and power forward Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans both at +900.
FanDuel Sportsbook also lists swingman Kevin Porter Jr (+1400) of the Houston Rockets and swingman Zach LaVine (+1800) of the Chicago Bulls as one's to watch as the season gets started later this year.
