List of Penn State Players Declared for the 2023 NFL Draft

College football powerhouse Penn State once again has several legit NFL Draft prospects in 2023. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. leads the pack, though there's a host of others that could hear their names called.

With that in mind, here's everything you need to know about the Nittany Lion alumni who could become 2023 draft picks. 

Penn State Underclassmen Declared for 2023 NFL Draft

To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must have been out of high school for at least three years and used up all of their college eligibility. However, underclassmen and prospects who have graduated early can also request permission from the league to be draft-eligible.

Three non-seniors are part of Penn State's 2023 draft hopefuls. Joey Porter Jr., plus wide receiver Parker Washington and tight end Brenton Strange, are forgoing their remaining years of college eligibility.

Penn State Seniors in the 2023 NFL Draft

Most of the NFL Draft is comprised of seniors who spent four years in college before attempting to enter the pros. This allows those who don't break out early to continue their development in hopes of closing out their collegiate careers strong.

Penn State has 10 seniors looking to make the jump to the NFL. This group is headlined by safety Ji'Ayir Brown, who is projected as a fourth-round pick. He's joined by center Juice Scruggs, wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley, defensive tackle P.J. Mustipher, EDGE Nick Tarburton, quarterback Sean Clifford, kicker Jake Pinegar, punter Barney Armor, long snapper Chris Stoll and defensive back/linebacker Jonathan Sutherland.

The scouting combine hosts the very best from the country for a showcase in front of every NFL front office. However, not every player looking to become a pro is invited to this event. This invite list then gives us a good look at the players from each school with the strongest chances of being drafted, or signing as free agents. 

Penn State had seven players invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine: Ji'Ayir Brown, P.J. Mustipher, Joey Porter Jr., Juice Scruggs, Brenton Strange, Mitchell Tinsley and Parker Washington. There's a good possibility most of this group hears their names called at some point during the draft.
