In 2017, the Chiefs traded up in the first round of the draft in order to gain Buffalo's No. 10 pick and ultimately select Patrick Mahomes. The Bills ended up trading up to draft Allen in the following year's draft, and the intrigue deepened after both got off to terrific NFL careers.

Allen did a lot more damage on the ground, however, racking up 763 rushing yards and 6 TDs compared to Mahomes' 381 rushing yards and 2 TDs.
