Jerry Jones Provides Ezekiel Elliott Injury Update for Week 10
Updated:
The Dallas Cowboys elected to play it safe and sit running back Ezekiel Elliott in Week 8 with their bye right after. Now that the team is back and preparing for a game this Sunday, fans are eager to know Elliott's status.
Owner Jerry Jones discussed the plan for the RB as Dallas prepares to take on the Green Bay Packers.
Jones said on a radio interview Tuesday it's "anticipated" the veteran running back will be "ready to go" for Sunday. This doesn't sound like a guarantee, but it seems like Zeke should be back in action against Green Bay.
Elliott's been productive for the Cowboys this season, posting at least 49 yards in each of his first seven games. He's turned 109 attempts into 443 yards and 4 touchdowns, serving as Dallas' preferred goal-line and short-yardage back.
Though Elliott's been solid, it's fellow RB Tony Pollard that's gotten the most attention in 2022. Pollard excelled with Zeke sidelined in Week 8, popping off for a whopping 131 yards and 3 TDs against Chicago. Some thought Pollard's performance would lead to a changing of the guard, but all signs point to Elliott regaining the RB1 role in Week 10.
Both backs will likely be busy against the struggling Packers on Sunday. Dallas heads into this NFC matchup as 5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
