Updated:

Bowl game season is an exciting time in college football. Schools across the nation will battle it out for postseason glory and a chance to end their year on a high note.

One team that's no stranger to playing in bowl games is the Florida State Seminoles. Here's everything you need to know about FSU's bowl history before making its next appearance.

Florida State Bowl Game History

College football fans shouldn't be surprised to learn Florida State has built an impressive bowl game history over the years. The Seminoles have played in a whopping 50 bowl games all-time. However, their 2006 Emerald Bowl appearance was vacated by the NCAA due to an academic scandal.

Florida State's first bowl appearance came in the 1903 Florida Times-Unions' Championship Cup. The Seminoles played Stetson to a 5-5 tie and their first bowl win did not come until 47 years later. They took down the Wofford Terriers, 19-6, during the 1950 Cigar Bowl under head coach Don Veller.

The Seminoles' most recent bowl appearance came in the 2022 Cheez-It Bowl. FSU knocked off Oklahoma 35-32 in a high-scoring shootout that went down to the final seconds.
