Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Sleepers for Week 6
Updated:
This always-unpredictable fantasy season leaves managers scrambling to plug holes created by injuries or underwhelming starters heading into Week 6. This is also the first time managers must consider working around the NFL's bye weeks. Aisde from the big-name waiver wire targets, there's a few under-the-radar players that could be worth rostering as well.
Here are three of the best fantasy football waiver wire sleepers for Week 6.
Waiver Wire Sleepers Week 6
Note: Only players rostered in fewer than 20% of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues are in consideration for this list.
1. Rondale Moore, WR, Arizona Cardinals (19% Rostered)
Rondale finally saw his first taste of 2022 action in Week 4, but got started off with a dud 3-catch, 11-yard performance. Those numbers jumped to 8 targets, 7 receptions and 68 yards in Week 5. With the return of DeAndre Hopkins coming in Week 7, this may be your last chance to steal some slept-on value. A one-week type of solution, Moore is a great streaming option for fantasy managers dealing with Week 6 byes. Kyler Murray and his wideouts should shred the Seattle Seahawks' secondary, one that ranks 31st in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric.
2. Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers (3% Rostered)
The Green Bay Packers' wide receiver room is the most difficult to project in all of football, but it's hard to ignore what Randall Cobb did in Week 5. He exploded for a 13-target performance, tallying 7 receptions and 99 yards, and a WR15 standing. Predicting which wide receiver Aaron Rodgers will fall in love with is tricky on a week by week basis, but there's so much chemistry between the two. Add in a favorable matchup against the New York Jets, who rank just 23rd in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric and this is a gamble worth taking. Cobb also ranks third on the team with red zone targets and that's a good bet against a Jets squad allowing the 14th-most passing TDs in football.
3. Latavius Murray, RB, Denver Broncos (19% Rostered)
Latavius Murray was unable to make the quick turnaround from a London game with his former team, the New Orleans Saints, to getting activated in Week 5 for his new team, the Denver Broncos. He'll join the roster in Week 6 with a running back room wide open for opportunities following Javonte Williams' injury. Backup Mike Boone gobbled up 30% of the rushing share from the incumbent backup Melvin Gordon and the two both saw a trio of targets. The bottom line? Denver's coaching staff clearly doesn't love Gordon as a workhorse and that means opportunity for the newest face on the roster. If Murray can recreate his RB20 performance from Week 4, he might just win you a fantasy matchup in Week 6.
