The 2022-23 NBA season is in full swing. If you need some advice on your FanDuel fantasy basketball lineup tonight, The Duel is here to help.
Here are three players to target and two to avoid in Wednesday, 10/26, NBA DFS action.
NBA DFS Picks Tonight 10/26/2022
Giannis Antetokounmpo Fantasy
Target Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF/SF, Milwaukee Bucks ($11,600): Giannis Antetokounmpo is doing whatever the Milwaukee Bucks need from him in the early going. In their first game, he flirted with a triple-double; in the second, he popped off for 44 points while his playmaking took a backseat. He put up 59.6 and 58.9 fantasy points in those outings, respectively, so he's going to get his no matter what role he takes on. Antetokounmpo draws a mouth-watering matchup on Wednesday against the struggling Brooklyn Nets, who are giving up the fourth-most points, 12th-most assists and 10th-most rebounds per game to opponents. The two-time MVP could stuff the stat sheet and pour in buckets tonight.
Trae Young Fantasy
Target Trae Young, PG, Atlanta Hawks ($8,700): Trae Young continues to be himself despite the arrival of Dejounte Murray in the Atlanta Hawks' backcourt. Young remains the team's leading scorer (25.3 PPG) and playmaker (league-leading 11.7 APG), so there's no real threat to his fantasy upside with Murray in town. Now Young is in a perfect spot to keep things going against the Detroit Pistons. Detroit's been a defensive mess, allowing the sixth-most PPG and 10th-best opponent 3-point to begin the year. This looks like a great chance for Young to crack the 50-point mark in fantasy after starting the year with three straight 40-point performances.
Lonnie Walker Fantasy
Target Lonnie Walker, SG/SF, Los Angeles Lakers ($4,900): Lonnie Walker presents an appealing value target given the Los Angeles Lakers' health woes and their desperate need for a third scorer. Walker has stepped up in the early going on that front, ranking No. 3 on the team with 15.3 PPG. He's being given a boatload of opportunities to put the ball in the bucket, as evidenced by the fact his current 13.7 field goal attempts per game would clear his previous career-high (10.9) by nearly 3.0. You'd like to see better efficiency, especially from deep (17.6%), but the volume is extremely encouraging. Facing a Denver Nuggets defense ceding the most PPG in the league, Walker could easily surpass his modest salary with a big scoring night.
Kyrie Irving Fantasy
Avoid Kyrie Irving, PG/SG, Brooklyn Nets ($8,800): Kyrie Irving has fantasy performances of 28.9, 42.7 and 63.1 to begin the year. In other words, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. He's still clearly finding his rhythm from deep, as he's shooting just 28.0% on 3-point tries to begin the year. Now he'll have to face a hounding Bucks tonight that could keep his box score on the tamer side. Milwaukee owns the best defensive rating in the league after its first two games and boasts one of the best defensive guards in the league in Jrue Holiday. Given Brooklyn's lacking supporting cast, the Bucks may focus on Irving and force others to beat them tonight.
Bam Adebayo Fantasy
Avoid Bam Adebayo, C/PF, Miami Heat ($7,000): Bam Adeabyo's been inconsistent to begin the year. Look no further than his last two games, as he posted 16.9 and 36.5 fantasy points in back-to-back matchups against the Toronto Raptors. The big man is currently shooting under 45.7% from the field, which is notable given his career average of 55.7%. He's also averaging his lowest RPG (8.5) since the 2018-19 campaign. The Portland Trail Blazers present a matchup that may not be kind to the struggling center. Portland is allowing the fourth-fewest RPG to opponents this season, which may cap Adebayo's upside if he keeps up his lackluster scoring (13.8 PPG)
