Dan Mullen Makes Hilarious "Joey Freshwater" Mention of Lane Kiffin as New Ole Miss Head Coach

Updated:

Dan Mullen, the head coach of Florida Gators football, wasted no time comedically welcoming new Ole Miss Rebels' football head coach Lane Kiffin back to the SEC this week.

When discussing Peter Burns' list of best SEC coaches to visit Las Vegas with, Mullen named Kiffin by one his rumored nicknames, "Joey Freshwater," which was derived from some rather questionable alleged behavior,

Unsurprisingly, Mullen came in behind Kiffin in Burns' list of top coaches to visit Vegas with, to which Mullen commented, "I think I'm a good time guy. I have a lot of fun, too. I'm obviously not — I may not be Joey Freshwater fun."

If you are unfamiliar, the mention of "Joey Freshwater" is a nod to Kiffin, as he was rumored to use this alias when attempting to court college-aged women during his coaching tenure with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Kiffin has denied the use of that alias in the past, however, he has admitted to using "Joey Chestnut," according to SBNation.com.

Neither Kiffin nor Mullen actually made it near the top of Burns' list of SEC coaches he would want to take a Vegas trip with though. Arkansas' Sam Pittman came in at No. 5, preceded by Mississippi State's Joe Moorhead, Kentucky's Mark Stoops, Auburn's Gus Malzahn and the top choice in LSU's Ed Orgeron.
