Chase Claypool's Bears Jersey Number Revealed After Trade
Updated:
When wide receiver Chase Claypool was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, he had to forfeit his jersey number. That's because one of his new teammates, Darnell Mooney, currently wears No. 11 for Chicago.
On Wednesday, Claypool's new jersey number was revealed.
Fortunately for Claypool, his number is barely changing. He'll now wear No. 10 for the Bears after rocking No. 11 for the Steelers since his NFL debut in 2020.
It's fitting that Claypool and Mooney are only one digit apart, as they'll work side by side as receivers in Chicago's revamped offense. While Mooney has already established himself as Justin Fields' top pass-catcher, Claypool projects to be the WR2 on his new team, as he was in Pittsburgh behind Diontae Johnson.
Claypool will try to help the Bears beat the Miami Dolphins -- who were also busy at the trade deadline -- on Sunday at Soldier Field. Chicago is currently listed as a 5-point home underdog on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
