Cameron Smith U.S. Open 2023 Odds, History & Prediction (Lack of Tournament Success Clouds Outlook)

With the RBC Canadian Open in the rearview mirror, the golf world's attention is now officially turned to the U.S. Open.
One of the most prestigious events in golf, the U.S. Open has the ability to launch any golfer's career to new heights. Although he's won a major event before (2022 Open Championship), Australia's Cameron Smith has never been victorious at the U.S. Open.
Here's everything you need to know about Cameron Smith's U.S. Open odds and history heading into the 2023 event.

Cameron Smith U.S. Open Prediction 2023
It's no secret that the U.S. Open has been Cameron Smith's kryptonite. After a T4 finish in his tournament debut eight years ago, the 29-year-old veteran hasn't placed higher than T38 since then. He's even missed the cut three times, including each of the last two events.
More 2023 U.S. Open coverage on The Duel:
Smith has spent the 2023 season with LIV Golf's Ripper GC. He's racked up some impressive performances as of late, finishing seventh or better in three of his last four outings. He also made appearances at the Masters Tournament and PGA Championship, placing T34 and T9, respectively.
For the best bet, I'm going with a Cameron Smith top-30 finish at -155 odds as the best bet. Although he's one of the best golfers in the world, his U.S. Open history makes him difficult to trust. If he hadn't won the Open Championship last year, I'd consider fading him altogether.
