Brazil World Cup History: Appearances, Wins and All-Time Record for Men's Soccer Team
Updated:
Brazil's men's soccer team is back in the World Cup once again this year. This storied squad will look to get back on top after a few down years.
Here's everything you need about Brazil's history in the World Cup.
Brazil World Cup Appearances
This year marks the 22nd all-time appearance for Brazil's men's national soccer team. They are the only country to qualify for every World Cup since the tournament's inception in 1930.
Brazil is coming off of an underwhelming performance in their last World Cup showing. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals at the 2018 WC in Russia.
Brazil World Cup Wins
It's no surprise that Brazil's constant presence in the World Cup has led to major success. Brazil ranks first all-time with five WC final wins. They captured their first title in 1958, then followed that up with another title the following World Cup in 1962. Brazil also won in 1970 and 1994, the latter of which was hosted in the United States.
Brazil's most recent title win came in 2002. They defeated Germany 2-0 to capture the title at the Korea and Japan-hosted tournament.
