3 Best Prop Bets for Pelicans vs Nuggets NBA Game on March 25 (Jamal Murray Shines in Mile High City)

Updated:

Thursday's NBA slate of games includes a showdown between the New Orleans Pelicans and Denver Nuggets. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds list the Nuggets as the 5.5-point home favorite with the projected total set at 226.5.

Here's three of the best prop bets for the Pelicans-Nuggets game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Pelicans vs Nuggets Player Props

1. Jamal Murray — Points: Over 22.5 (-111)

It's a small sample size, but Jamal Murray has been performing strongly as of late. The Canadian guard is averaging 22.4 points on .532/.606/.800 shootings split over his last five games, finishing over 22.5 points thrice in that span. With Nikola Jokic (calf) being questionable for tonight's contests, the Nuggets will lean on Murray once again. The 26-year-old already paces Denver with 16.2 field-goal attempts per contest and could see an uptick if Jokic either sits out or is limited. In other words, Murray should see more than enough volume to finish with the over on this prop.

2. Jonas Valanciunas — Under 14.5 Rebounds (-111)

Jonas Valanciunas is one of the more consistent rebounders in the NBA, averaging a whopping 13.8 boards in his last nine games alone. Having said that, I don't see him finishing with 15-plus rebounds tonight. While Valanciunas has achieved the feat in four of his last seven games, each instance came against a bottom-five NBA team. For reference, he's never finished with 15-plus rebounds in 23 previous encounters with the Nuggets and is only averaging 5.7 RPG in three games against them this season. Even if Jokic isn't on the floor tonight, I expect Valanciunas to finish with the under.

3. CJ McCollum — Assists: Under 5.5 (-111)

CJ McCollum has stepped up his playmaking this month, averaging a solid 6.5 assists in his last 10 games. While that's more than his projected total tonight, I'm opting for the under. For starters, McCollum has finished with fewer than 5.5 assists in four of his last six games. He'll have issues turning that around considering how the Nuggets only allowed 21.3 APG in their previous three outings — tied for the best mark in the Association over that stretch. After finishing with the under in 19 of his last 24 meetings with Denver, the over just isn't a reliable option here.
