3 Best Prop Bets for Commanders vs Bears Thursday Night Football Week 6

Updated:

Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season kicks off with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears. While FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds project a close affair in this NFC clash, the Bears are 1-point home underdogs in what should be a defensive battle.

Thursday Night Football Prop Bets

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Commanders vs Bears matchup, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's Week 6 odds.

Commanders vs Bears TNF Prop Bets Tonight

1. Curtis Samuel - Receptions: Over 4.5 (-130)

It's been five weeks and the hype train on wide receiver Curtis Samuel has shown no signs of stopping. The former Ohio State standout is averaging 6.4 receptions on a team-high 9.0 targets per game. He has also logged at least 5 catches in four of his five games played this season. Yes, Chicago's pass defense has proven to be solid in 2022. However, Samuel works out of the slot most times, which means he is a quick option for quarterback Carson Wentz whenever he is in trouble in the pocket. The fact that Wentz has been sacked 20 times, the second-highest mark in the NFL, shows that he is in trouble a lot. Samuel will be peppered with targets tonight.

2. Darnell Mooney - Receiving Yards: Over 46.5 (-113)

While Chicago's pass defense down the field has been reliable, the exact opposite can be said about the Commanders. Washington has allowed the fourth-most yards to opposing wide receivers this season (950) as well as 12.2 yards per completion (No. 30 in NFL). They are susceptible to giving up the deep ball and that bodes well for Darnell Mooney's chances of balling out in front of the home crowd. Mooney has come alive over the last two weeks, racking up 146 yards on 6 receptions (10 targets). This is a game the Bears are capable of winning through the air and quarterback Justin Fields should be looking to take full advantage of that.

3. Anytime TD Scorer - David Montgomery (+130)

There's not going to be many points scored in this game. Both Washington and Chicago rank among the bottom five teams in offensive DVOA and rank among the top 20 teams in defensive DVOA. If the Bears can get within the 20-yard line, keep an eye on running back David Montgomery. Montgomery made his return from an injury in Week 5 and saw the only two red zone carries by a RB. He guided the offense with 62 receiving yards on 4 receptions as well. That's important to remember considering the Commanders have already allowed 3 receiving touchdowns to opposing RBs this season (tied for the highest mark in the NFL).
