Belmont Park Horse Racing Picks for Sunday 6/25/23

Updated:

The Belmont Spring/Summer Meet continues on Sunday, June 25 with 9 races including a stakes race. Post time is 1:05 p.m. ET from Belmont Park. Get in the game with mobile betting on FanDuel Sportsbook.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, check the weather, and keep an eye on the track conditions with potential rain in the forecast.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions).

Belmont Park Betting Picks

According to numberFire horse racing projections and Guaranteed Tip Sheet (GTS), these are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today. The best value option will not necessarily be the top pick(s).

The June 10th Belmont Stakes winner was Arcangelo, who closed at 8/1 odds and completed a 3-for-3 in the Late Pick 3.

The May 26 picks at Belmont produced two top play winners, but both as favorites. On Sat., May 27 at Belmont, FanDuel Racing top picks went 3-for-3 including a $2 exacta payoff for $89 in Race 9. FanDuel Racing's May 19 picks at Pimlico went 3-for-3 and produced an 11/1 winner on Taxed in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes that also paid $190 on a $2 exacta bet.

1. Silken Dollar and Moonage Daydream. Race 7

The Late Pick 3 starts with an Allowance race for state-bred fillies and mares at 7 furlongs on the turf. The numberFire algorithm and Guaranteed Tip Sheet projects Moonage Daydream (2/1) to win and Dream Central (5/1) to challenge along with Master Ofthe Tunes (8/1).

Silken Dollar (10/1) is better than her recent running lines, and she did win at this level as the favorite late last year.

Moonage Daydream showed talent last year as a 2-year-old winning a minor stakes race. Her debut at Belmont last month was a close second on the turf at 6 furlongs.

Dream Central lacks early speed and is a late runner who did have to alter course when lacking a clear path in the upper stretch last time in her 2023 debut.

2. Kant Hurry Love and Rossa Veloce, Race 8

FanDuel Racing Odds: 8/1 and 2/1

Race 8 is the $125,000 Dancin Renee Stakes for state-bred fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs. The numberFire order of finish is Grannys Connection (3/1), Kant Hurry Love (8/1) and Rossa Veloce (2/1).

Rossa Veloce is in solid form and won a pair of races earlier this year, including a stakes race with triple-digit speed figures for EPO trainer Rob Atras. Leading jockey Manny Franco rides her again after she raced on the lead before finishing third in a graded stakes here last month.

Kant Hurry Love offers value. She blossomed over the winter and won a pair of NY-bred allowance races in impressive fashion before moving up to open company. Her win in March was her third this year with a career-best 108 speed figure at this distance.

3. Watasha and Born a Gambler, Race 9

FanDuel Racing Odds: 8/1 and 9/2

Race 9 is a Claiming race at 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf. Born a Gambler (9/2) seems like a good bet and both numberFire and GTS have him challenging for the win. Manny Franco rides for EPO trainer Mike Maker, who also saddles Watasha (8/1) after a recent claim. He's a projected in-the-money finisher by numberFire's data and can run better at the added distance after a strong rally at 6 furlongs last race from way off the pace to finish fourth.

Mauritius (5/2) has really taken a step forward with the switch to turf. Her runner-up finish last month was a nose in front of Legendary Lore (4/1) for the meet's top trainer, Linda Rice.
