Allen Robinson II Fantasy Football Outlook 2022 (Sky is the Limit in High-Powered Rams Offense)

Allen Robinson II Fantasy Football Outlook 2022 (Sky is the Limit in High-Powered Rams Offense)

Updated:

It's safe to say that the 2021 NFL season did not go as planned for wide receiver Allen Robinson. He finished as the No. 81 WR in PPR-scoring fantasy football leagues, but is now part of an exciting Los Angeles Rams offense. He will be aiming to cross the 1,000-yard mark for the third time in four years.

With that being the case, it's no surprise to see Robinson climbing higher and higher in fantasy football rankings this year. His average draft position (ADP) has him going as the 31st wide receiver off the board and as a late sixth-round selection.

Allen Robinson II Fantasy Football Outlook

It cannot be overstated how much of an upgrade quarterback Matthew Stafford is when compared to the duo of Andy Dalton and Justin Fields. The Rams averaged 277.5 passing yards per game last season, which ranked as the fifth-highest mark in the NFL. Chicago checked in at 30th in that category, averaging only 188.6 passing yards per game. The departure of Roberts Woods and Odell Beckham Jr. also leaves 117 targets from the 2021 season up for grabs. Look for Robinson to take on a No. 2 WR role alongside Cooper Kupp with ease.

Fantasy managers have a right to be concerned about Robinson's efficiency given his performance last year. After all, he averaged a career-low 10.8 yards per reception and scored one single touchdown. Keep in mind that he ran just 1.13 yards per route, though. That ranked 79th out of 90 qualifying wide receivers with 50 or more targets. Matt Nagy's offensive scheme was clearly not allowing Robinson to get down the field and do what he does best. This is a player that led the NFL in receiving touchdowns back in 2015 (14) and is well-known for his ability to haul in contested passes.

Woods proved last season that Sean McVay's offensive scheme allows multiple WRs to shine. In fact, Woods was the No. 12 WR in all of fantasy football through the first nine weeks of the year. That was when a torn ACL cost him the rest of the season. Robinson's floor lines up to be that of a high-end WR3, but his ceiling is much higher. He can sneak into WR2 range with another healthy campaign.

Allen Robinson II Projections

Projections from the NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook expect Robinson to finish in the middle of the pack. He's 26th to lead the NFL in receiving yards (+5000), which is a good sign given Marquise Brown checked in at that spot in 2021 with over 1,000 yards. Robinson's also 13th to lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns (+3000). Being ranked around players like AJ Brown and Keenan Allen shows a lot about Robinson's potential to thrive. When taking Robinson's carer average into account (5.0 touches per game, 12.9-yard average), a 1,000-yard season could very well be his floor on a high-powered Rams offense.

Is Allen Robinson II a Good Fantasy Football Pick?

When it comes down to it, is Robinson someone to target in the middle rounds? Definitely. The upside that comes with taking him greatly outweighs the downside. He's the No. 28 wide receiver inThe Duel's PPR fantasy football rankings, and is a perfect target for a WR3/FLEX spot.

Robinson has the potential to be one of the biggest steals in fantasy football drafts this fall. No one joined a better situation than he did. If he can build early chemistry with Stafford and impress McVay, the sky is the limit for the 28-year-old.
