3 Best Prop Bets for Panthers vs Maple Leafs NHL Playoffs Game 2 on May 4 (Toronto Keeps Bobrovsky Busy All Game)
Updated:
Thursday's slate of NHL postseason games includes a Game 2 showdown between the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NHL odds list the Maple Leafs as the -210 moneyline favorite at home with the projected total set at 6.5 goals.
Here are three of the best NHL player prop bets for the Panthers vs Maple Leafs game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Panthers vs Maple Leafs Player Props
1. Mitchell Marner 2+ Points (+120)
Marner started off the postseason on fire, scoring 3 points in Games 1 and 2 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, then 2 points in Games 3 and 4. He has cooled off since, going without a point in his last two contests, including Game 1 of this series. But with a pivotal Game 2 coming up on Thursday and the Maple Leafs needing to avoid going down 2-0 before the series shifts to Florida, expect Marner to get in stride once again. Marner had 6 points in four games against the Panthers during the regular season, so look for him to bounce back after failing to register a point in Game 1.
2. Sergei Bobrovsky Over 29.5 Saves (-136)
This bet is more about the Maple Leafs than it is about Bobrovsky. The Florida goalie had 34 saves in a Game 1 shutout. Not only do I expect Toronto to put pucks in the net this game, I expect them to be even more aggressive on offense, leading to more chances and more shots. Toronto also averages 31.43 shots on goal per game. Even while giving up some goals, Bobrovsky should still save plenty of shots against a desperate Maple Leafs team doing whatever they can to avoid going down 2-0.
3. John Tavares 4+ Shots on Goal (-118)
The Maple Leafs will need John Tavares, one of their best scorers, to light the lamp tonight and be aggressive on offense. This postseason, Taveras has four or more shots on goal in four of the Maple Leaf's seven games so far. Furthermore, to end the regular season, Tavares had four or more shots on goal in four of Toronto's last six games. And in the two games he didn't reach the four-shot mark, he had three. Expect Tavares to go along with the aggressiveness of Tornto's game plan tonight and put pucks on net.
