3 Best Prop Bets for Knicks vs Lakers on March 12 (D'Angelo Russell Balls Out in LA)

3 Best Prop Bets for Knicks vs Lakers on March 12 (D'Angelo Russell Balls Out in LA)

Updated:

The Los Angeles Lakers will aim to win their fourth consecutive game when they host the New York Knicks at 9:00 p.m. ET inside Crypto.com Arena tonight. Two stars enter this battle as game-time decisions with Jalen Brunson battling a foot injury and Anthony Davis dealing with a foot stress issue.

Here are three of the best prop bets for this cross-conference showdown, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Knicks-Lakers Player Props

1. D'Angelo Russell - Points: Over 18.5 (-108)

D'Angelo Russell wasted no time cementing himself as one of LA's best scorers as he tallied 28 points on a 10-of-17 shooting mark in his return from a sprained right ankle on Friday. Most importantly, Russell played in 31 minutes and showed little to no limitations when it came to his arsenal of moves. He will start at point guard again tonight against a Knicks' defense that has fallen apart as of late. New York has allowed an opponent shooting percentage of 50.0% over its last three games (No. 22 in NBA). Keep in mind that Russell is averaging 18.8 points over his last four games against the Knicks, too. Back that success to continue on Sunday.

2. Julius Randle - Rebounds: Over 9.5 (+108)

This prop bet comes down to Julius Randle's matchup more than it does anything else. The Lakers have not been able to keep anyone off the boards this season as they allow 53.4 rebounds per game (No. 24 in NBA) as well as an opponent defensive rebounding percentage of 77.9% (No. 24 in NBA). LA also gives up the second-most rebounds to the power forward position. Randle is averaging 10.3 rebounds per game on the season and has tallied double-digit boards in five of his last seven games against the Lakers. The two-time All-Star has a chance to cash this prop bet before the fourth quarter even begins.

3. RJ Barrett - Made Threes: Under 1.5 (-106)

There is one thing the Lakers' defense excels at this season and that is defending the perimeter. LA allows an opposing three-point shooting percentage of only 34.3% (No. 2 in NBA). That does not bode well for RJ Barrett, who has drained fewer than 2 three-pointers in seven of his last 10 games. He is shooting a pedestrian 27.5% (14-of-51) from beyond the arc in that span. Barrett has clearly improved his ability to drive to the rim during his time in the NBA and he is beginning to rely on his power more often as the season rolls on. The absence of Brunson would favor this bet considering Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes rely on their passing abilities at a much lower rate.
