3 Best Prop Bets for Dolphins vs Bengals Thursday Night Football Week 4

Updated:

Week 4 of the 2022 NFL season kicks off with an exciting matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. Injuries on Miami's side make this contest harder to predict, but the Bengals are currently slated as 3.5-point home favorites.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Dolphins vs. Bengals matchup, courtesy of NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Thursday Night Football Prop Bets Dolphins vs Bengals

1. Tee Higgins - Receiving Yards: Over 62.5 (-114)

Tee Higgins is coming off of his best game of the season after racking up 93 receiving yards against the New York Jets last week, and he should keep rolling against the Dolphins' exploitable secondary. Miami has surrendered the second-most passing yards in the league, which is great news for Higgins, who can rack up yardage in a hurry. He's hit this over in each of his last two games, bouncing back in a big way after he was forced out of Week 1 with a concussion. The Dolphins are already down cornerback Byron Jones, and fellow CB Xavien Howard is dealing with a groin injury heading into this contest. Higgins should have plenty of opportunities to burn this group for huge gains.

2. Chase Edmonds - Rushing Yards: Under 32.5 (-114)

Chase Edmonds is on a downward trend in the Dolphins' backfield. After recording a surprising 12 carries in Week 1, he's managed just 11 attempts over the past two games combined. Even more concerningly, he's seen his snaps decrease every game so far, going from 63% in the season opener to 51% in Week 2 and 44% this past Sunday. Raheem Mostert's snap share is trending in the opposite direction, providing a serious threat to Edmonds' workload. It's difficult to see Edmonds going over this total given his spot in a committee as well as the fact that Miami could be playing catch-up through the air on Thursday to keep pace with Cincinnati's high-powered offense.

3. Joe Burrow - Passing TDs: Over 1.5 (-166)

Joe Burrow looked back to his usual self after a Week 2 clunker, throwing for 275 yards and 3 TDs against the Jets last week. It marked his second time throwing for at least 2 touchdowns in 2022, and he should make it a third on Thursday Night Football. Miami's almost non-existent passing defense has gotten diced up by top QBs over the past two weeks, giving up 318 yards/3 TDs to Lamar Jackson in Week 2 and 400 yards/2 TDs to Josh Allen in Week 3. It's clear that teams can beat the Dolphins through the air, as this unit ranks 29th in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric. The Bengals' rushing game has struggled to start the year and Joe Mixon is dealing with an injury he picked up in Week 3, so things won't get any better on that front. Cincinnati will need Burrow to lead them to the end zone against a dangerous Miami offense.
