3 Best Prop Bets for Celtics vs Heat NBA Playoffs Game 6 on May 27 (Boston Slows Down Jimmy Butler)

Updated:

Saturday's slate of NBA postseason action includes a Game 6 between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NBA odds list the Celtics as 3-point road favorites with the projected total set at 210.

Here are three of the best NBA player prop bets for the Celtics vs Heat game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Odds

Jimmy Butler

Under 28.5 points

-104

Derrick White

Over 2.5 threes made

-113

Marcus Smart

Over 5.5 assists

-118

Here's a breakdown of why I like each bet.

1. Jimmy Butler — Points: Under 28.5 (-104)

Jimmy Butler has been one of the best players in the playoffs, but the Celtics have done a good job of slowing him down. The six-time NBA All-Star has been held to 24.2 PPG through the first five contests, which is noticeably below his projected point total for Game 6. Butler has now been held to fewer than 28.5 points in eight of his last 10 outings, as well as in three of the most recent four. I expect him to still make a big impact tonight, but it's clear that the Celtics know how to limit his scoring ways, making the Under the right choice.

2. Derrick White — Threes Made: Over 2.5 (-113)

Derrick White put on a show from downtown in Game 5, going 6-of-8 (75.0%) from the three-point line. It's just the latest example of the Heat being unable to shut down the veteran, who is averaging 3.6 threes on 58.1% shooting in this series. White shouldn't have any issues continuing his success from beyond the arc. After all, he's now hit the Over on this prop in each of his last five games, as well as in 10 of his 18 postseason outings thus far. With the Heat allowing the 12th-most threes to shooting guards in the NBA, expect another sharpshooting performance from White.

3. Marcus Smart — Assists: Over 5.5 (-118)

The Celtics need to win to stay alive, meaning Marcus Smart must continue his reliable playmaking. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy paces his team with 6.0 assists per game, putting him in a good position to hit the Over on tonight's project assist total. For starters, Smart has finished with six-plus helpers in four of his last seven games — including both previous games in Miami. He's now averaging 6.9 APG in his last seven matchups with the Heat, hitting the over five times over that stretch. There's just no reason to doubt Smart's playmaking skills ahead of a must-win contest.
