PGA Championship Field and Course

The second major of the year draws 156 players and a strong field led by the top three players in the world golf rankings -- Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, who is a member at Oak Hill.

But nine top challengers and major contenders have more appealing odds to win between +2000 and +3000. A stern test awaits at the Oak Hill East Course, a Donald Ross design that was transformed in 2019 by architect Andrew Green. Every hole's green complex, fairway and landing zone were remodeled and many trees were removed as well. More severe, deep bunkers were also added. Changes around the smaller, elevated greens include more runoff areas and hazards in the form of mounds and hummocks.

PGA Championship Picks & Predictions

There are plenty of top contenders for this week's PGA Championship, including Tony Finau. He shoots for his first major victory, and the 33-year-old recently dueled Jon Rahm and beat the world No. 1 in the Mexico Open. Finau fits some solid strokes gained stat profiles Off-the-Tee, Around the Green and Approach, which is key again this week with smaller greens and surrounding severe bunkers and runoffs.

Finau has often been on the first page of the leaderboard. He sports 31 top-5 and 58 top-10 finishes in his career. The six-time PGA Tour winner also rates very well in comp difficult conditions. Add in a No. 1 ranking on Par 4 scoring across 400-500 yards holes with bentgrass greens, and Finau is a worthy win contender this week.
