For the past 22 years, MLB fans have been fortunate enough to watch the legendary career of the greatest player in his generation, Albert Pujols. His list of accolades is longer than the line outside stadiums on Opening Day, highlighted by three MVP awards, 11 All-Star selections, two World Series titles, two Gold Gloves, a Rookie of the Year win and six Silver Sluggers.
Pujols made the final season of his career that much sweeter when he returned to the St. Louis Cardinals for a retirement tour. The surefire Hall of Famer spent the first 11 years of his career in St. Louis and returned for one last go around.
The MLB understood the impact of this generation's greatest ballplayer, gifting Pujols with an honor All-Star recognition and an opportunity to compete in the 2022 Home Run Derby during All-Star weekend. After all, Pujols ranks fifth on the league's all-time leaderboard with 685 long balls.
