Updated:

The Super Bowl offers sports bettors the ability to place prop bets on just about everything you could imagine, including the first drive result. Self-explanatory, but what happens on the first drive of the big Super Bowl 56 game.

What Was the First Drive Results?

The first drive of Super Bowl 56 was by the Los Angeles Rams, who received the ball on the opening kickoff. They got one first down before punting.

Last year, the first drive ended with a punt. Dating back to 2000, there have been 13 first drives that ended up with a punt. Only one touchdown was scored on an opening drive, and that came thanks to Devin Hester's opening kickoff return back in Super Bowl XLI (2007).

The other eight first drives resulted in four field goal attempts and four "other" results, mainly turnovers by the offense.
