After his most successful season at the University of Michigan, head coach Jim Harbaugh is once again seeing his name rumored in several NFL head coaching searches. The latest is the Minnesota Vikings.

According to reports, the Vikings plan to fly Harbaugh in on Wednesday, Feb. 2 for a formal interview to gauge his interest in their head coaching vacancy.

What Was Jim Harbaugh's Record in the NFL?

Harbaugh is no stranger to the NFL, notably spending four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014. Harbaugh 44-19-1 overall during that stretch and made three trips to the NFL Playoffs including a Super Bowl XLVII appearance in 2012.

The 49ers also reached the NFC Championship in three of his four years.

Jim Harbaugh Coaching Career

It's clear that Harbaugh is a seasoned head coach with plenty of highly-successful experiences. The former Michigan alum operated as the head coach at University of San Diego from 2004-2006, then spent 2007-2010 with the Stanford Cardinal, and has been coaching the Michigan Wolverines since 2015.

Jim Harbaugh NFL Career

Harbaugh is a former NFL quarterback, spending 14 years in the league with four different teams including the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers. The former QB accumulated a career playing record of 66-74, making appearances in 177 games and throwing for 26,288 yards and 129 TDs to 117 INTs.

Jim Harbaugh Michigan Record

Harbaugh has seen arguably his most successful collegiate coaching stint with Michigan. His 2021 team won the Big Ten Championship for the first time since 2004 and earning a spot in the College Football Playoff. Harbaugh was named Associated Press College Football Coach of the Year after an outstanding 12-2 overall record.

In seven years at Michigan, Harbaugh has led the Wolverines to a 61-24 overall record and 42-17 record in Big Ten play.
