Week 2 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Jets vs Browns

Updated:
A pair of AFC teams meet head-to-head in Week 2 as the New York Jets pay a visit to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds have the Browns tabbed as 5.5-point home favorites in this meeting.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 2 showdown.
Michael Carter Fantasy
Start Michael Carter, RB, New York Jets: While many expected rookie Breece Hall to take over the Jets' backfield this season, Michael Carter was the running back to own in Week 1. The returning veteran rushed the ball 10 times for 60 yards and caught seven passes for another 40, finishing with 17 fantasy points — good for RB14 in PPR formats. Carter also out-snapped Hall, 50-38, and considering how the latter lost a fumble last week, I expect that trend to continue. Throw in the fact that Cleveland allowed two rushing touchdowns last week and that Carter should continue seeing targets if his team trails, he's a solid pick for PPR leagues.
Kareem Hunt Fantasy
Start Kareem Hunt, RB, Cleveland Browns: While Nick Chubb saw most of the action out of the backfield, Kareem Hunt managed to have himself a solid fantasy day. The talented rusher averaged 4.2 yards on 11 carries, hauled in four catches for 24 yards and even found the end zone twice. His 23 fantasy points saw him finish as the RB4 in PPR. Though the Jets are solid against the run, don't let that stop you from starting Hunt. His four targets were tied for the third-most on the Browns in Week 1, giving him PPR value, plus Kevin Stefanski isn't shy when it comes to using him near the goal line.
Ty Conklin Fantasy
Sit Ty Conklin, TE, New York Jets: Streamers might be tempted to pick up Ty Conklin after he scored a touchdown in Week 1. Unfortunately, the rest of his performance left a lot to be desired. First of all, he only averaged 3.5 yards on four catches and even had a drop. Secondly, he recorded a fumble, further highlighting potential unreliability. Now, Conklin faces a Browns defense that held the Carolina Panthers' tight ends to just 6.9 points (No. 18) over the weekend. At the end of the day, Conklin is clearly a TD-dependent option who's too volatile to recommend starting.
Jacoby Brissett Fantasy
Sit Jacoby Brissett, QB, Cleveland Browns: Matchups against the Jets have, historically, been promising for quarterbacks due to how bad the organization has been. Having said that, steer clear of Jacoby Brissett. The Browns QB is far from a good fantasy option, finishing Week 1 as the QB28. Cleveland is a run-first team, which also limits Brissett, as does the fact that he tends to opt for high-percentage short passes. Even if you're looking for a stream option, you're bound to find more reliable options than the 29-year-old.
