Vikings Get Concerning News With Lewis Cine Injury Update
Updated:
The Minnesota Vikings are gearing up for what should be a tightly contested Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. This season-opener offers the first potential look at the team's talented rookie class, including first-round pick Lewis Cine.
However, it appears Cine's Week 1 status is now in jeopardy after being a late addition to the injury report.
Cine was limited once again during Friday's practice as he deals with a knee injury. He's officially been listed as questionable for Sunday's game, which is disappointing since the rookie appeared ready to make his NFL debut prior to popping up on Thursday's injury report.
Making this news concerning is the fact it's been revealed Cine reaggravated a preexisting injury. This means there's an underlying issue that hasn't fully healed, presenting a possible obstacle that could plague the first-rounder if not treated properly.
A knee injury for any player is always something worrisome, so hopefully Cine is able to avoid any significant missed time. Vikings fans would gladly trade a 1-2 game absence for the rookie being able to play in the remainder of the 2022 season.
Minnesota may be tasked with slowing down Aaron Rodgers without Cine on the field. NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook peg the Vikings as a 1.5-point underdogs on Sunday.
