VIDEO: Remembering When the Bengals' Jerome Simpson Stuck the Landing on a Perfect Front-Flip Touchdown

When most people think of Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers in the 2000s, their minds go right to Chad Johnson and A.J. Green. Those two were certainly the most dominant, but other guys made some pretty phenomenal plays as well.

Jerome Simpson was a Bengal for the first four years of his NFL career, and in 2011 he scored one of the most acrobatic touchdowns in NFL history.

A former high school basketball star who flexed insane athleticism with a 136-inch broad jump at the NFL Scouting Combine, Simpson put that leaping ability on full display here.

It was clear even from six or seven yards out that his game plan was to jump over the Arizona Cardinals defender — just look at the way he holds the ball down at his side. The defender reads this and doesn't go low, to avoid getting hurdled. That simply didn't matter, as Simpson got so high up that he still cleared the defender, getting flipped over in the process.

And like a true gymnast, he stuck the landing.

The 2020 Bengals offense is one of the most exciting units they've fielded in a while, thanks to rookie quarterback Joe Burrow, so hopefully they can put up some highlight reel plays like this one.
