VIDEO: Remembering When Kam Chancellor Destroyed Vernon Davis With One of the Biggest Hits of His Career
Updated:
The Seattle Seahawks had one of the most dangerous secondaries in the NFL in 2012, with "The Legion of Boom" roaming around the defensive backfield.
The player that really brought the most "boom" was safety Kam Chancellor, and that was clear in this massive hit he put on San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis.
Davis had his man beat running down the sideline, and a great throw from Colin Kaepernick looked like it was going to result in an easy touchdown. Chancellor had different plans, however, flying over and meeting Davis with an absolutely massive hit to jar the ball loose and force an incompletion.
Chancellor's time as a dominant NFL safety was relatively short lived, playing just seven seasons, but his impact was clear. He made four Pro Bowls in his first five seasons as a full-time starter, and he won a Super Bowl ring with the Seahawks in 2013.
