VIDEO: Remembering When Josh Allen Jumped Over a 6-Foot-5 Defender for a First Down

Updated:

Only two seasons into his NFL career, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has already become known as one of the most unpredictable signal-callers in the league. This play showcases why.

Instead of sliding like most quarterbacks would, Allen hurdles Anthony Barr, a 6-foot-5 linebacker that could have delivered a huge blow in this spot.

The sheer athleticism is almost unmatched at the position, but the wild nature of Allen's decision-making leaves Bills fans on eggshells most possessions. Rarely is there a player so explosive and reckless in the same breath.

Love it or hate it, Allen is clearly a gamer. He is going to lay his body on the line every down of every drive if need be. He will play without fear. He will fight for that extra yard.

Coaches and fans both want to see this type of spirit in their players, don't let anyone tell you different. The injury risk is worrying, but it's better than having a quarterback who is going to give up on trying to gain a crucial first down.
