Tyler Scott Scouting Report

Scott was not a top wide receiver prospect coming out of high school, but he received multiple offers from Power Five schools and decided to play for Cincinnati. He didn't make much of an impact as a freshman, logging just 3 receptions for 20 yards across 4 games, but still flashed some major upside.

The Ohio native cashed in on that upside by tallying 520 yards and 5 touchdowns on 30 receptions in his first taste of starting action as a sophomore. He stepped things up as a junior by totaling 899 yards and 9 touchdowns on 54 receptions, earning recognition as a second-team All-AAC player.

Highlighted strengths of Scott's game center around his elite speed. Scott is one of the fastest wide receivers in this draft class and regularly burned opposing defenders on vertical routes in college. He also thrives when it comes to cutting smoothly across the middle of the field to confuse his defender.

Scott is not a prospect without flaws, though, as he has struggled with drops and tends to disappear when facing a physical defender. He also needs more experience playing in the slot position. Overall, Scott's speed gives him a safe floor, while obvious room for improvement gives him a high ceiling.

Scott's speed is not something that only impacts the deep passing attack, as it also gives him the ability to break tackles and make defenders miss in the open field. His post-catch production is going to make him an early favorite for an NFL offensive coordinator looking for some pop in their scheme.

That makes the Ravens a viable landing spot. Baltimore recently added Odell Beckham Jr. to the roster, but only on a one-year deal and he is coming off a major injury. The team is still in need of a young WR to count on for years to come opposite Rashod Bateman, and Scott has the skill set to be that guy.

The only problem is that the Ravens lack a second-round pick after trading for linebacker Roquan Smith in November. They could opt to play it safe and hope Scott is on the board when their third-round pick comes around (No. 86 overall) or they could make a trade up to avoid any surprises.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens (Round 3, 86th overall)
