Toledo Bowl Game History

It's no surprise an accomplished team like the Rockets has been very busy during bowl season throughout the school's history. Toledo has played in 20 bowl games ever.

The Rockets made their first bowl appearance in 1969 under head coach Frank Lauterbur. Toledo faced Davison in the Tangerine Bowl and emerged victorious by a score of 56-33, giving the program its first-ever bowl win.

Toledo's most recent bowl appearance was in the 2022 Boca Raton Bowl. The Rockets notched another postseason win in that one, defeating Liberty 21-19 for a nail-biting victory.
