The arrival of Week 12 of the college football season means a quick preview of rivalry week. Few rivalry games are bigger than the annual showdown between the Lehigh Mountain Hawks and Lafayette Leopards, which is simply dubbed "The Rivalry."

The 2022 Lehigh vs Lafayette Rivalry showdown will be played in Easton, PA at the Leopards' Fisher Stadium. California Fisher Stadium holds a capacity of 13,132 seats and was built in 1925. Lafayette is 1-4 at home this season, while the 2-8 Mountain Hawks are just 1-4 on the road.

Dating back to 2000, Lafayette is 3-7 when playing The Rivalry matchups in front of their home crowd.

The Rivalry 2022 is officially scheduled for Week 12 of the college football season. The game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 19 with kickoff scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET. The game airs live on ESPN+.

Lehigh has completely dominated The Rivalry in recent years, going 10-4 straight up in its last 14 games against Lafayette. If that wasn't bad enough for the home team, the Mountain Hawks have also been victorious in five of their last six trips to Fisher Stadium.

Having said that, I like Lafayette's chances of winning this time around. Lehigh's defense has been putrid this season, giving up the third-most points (31.1 PPG) in the Patriot League. While the Leopards haven't had much success this campaign, the program is allowing the second-fewest points (22.8 PPG) in the conference.

With the Leopards also having won last year's meeting, I'm going with Lafayette winning at home.

Lafayette and Lehigh have faced off 157 times since their first meeting in 1884. This has been a fairly close rivalry, though, with the Leopards notching 80 wins to Lehigh's 72. There have also been five ties in the series.

As mentioned before, Lehigh has won 10 of the last 14 matchups in this Patriot League rivalry. That includes last year's game played in Bethlehem, PA, where the Mountain Hawks defeated the Leopards by a final score of 17-10.
