Bleda vs Fernandes Prediction
Two fighters looking to bounce back after tough losses meet on the preliminary card. Tereza Bleda was taken down via KO/TKO by Natalia Silva her last time in the octagon in November, while Gabriella Fernandes couldn't keep up with Jasmine Jasudavicius in a unanimous decision loss in February.
There's a lot to like about Bleda's chances of controlling this fight from the start. She enters Saturday with a 3-inch height advantage and 3.5-inch reach advantage over Fernandes, which will prove crucial when the fight is upright. On the ground, Bleda averages 1.1 submission attempts per 15 minutes.
Fernandes' quick turnaround could prove costly considering four months is a short amount of time to not only figure out what went wrong in her UFC debut, but to fix those weaknesses as well. Bleda was on a six-bout winning streak prior to her loss against Silva and I expect her to get back on track.
Winner: Tereza Bleda (-245)
Bleda vs Fernandes Best Bet
Bettors looking to back Bleda should do so via points (+135), but I lean toward backing the fight to go the distance (-132) here because it provides a bit of leeway if a surprising upset was to occur. Keep in mind three of Fernandes' last five fights have come down to the judges, anyways. Both fighters know what it takes to avoid falling victim to a finish and tend to lean on their endurance to come out on top.
Bet: Fight to Go the Distance (-132)
