Sergio Garcia Open Championship 2022 Odds, History & Predictions

Updated:

The Genesis Scottish Open was the final stop on the 2022 PGA Tour before the Open Championship at the famed St. Andrews.

Legacies are made at the Open Championship, especially when it's played at arguably the most famous course in the world, and there are few things as meaningful in the golf world as winning a major tournament.

So, naturally, FanDuel Sportsbook already has tons of odds and prop bets available for the Open Championship in 2022.

Sergio Garcia British Open Odds

Sergio Garcia has +10000 odds to win the Open Championship in 2022. That's currently tied for the T-No. 37 odds.

Has Sergio Garcia Ever Won the British Open?

Garcia has never won the Open Championship. His best finish came when he placed 2nd in 2007.

Sergio Garcia British Open Prop Bets

As for finishing position, Garcia is +150 to finish top-40, +340 to finish top-20, +850 to finish top-10 and +1700 to finish top-five.

Sergio Garcia British Open History

Garcia has made 24 Open Championship starts in his career and has failed to make the cut five times. He's also recorded 13 top-25 finishes, which includes 10 in the top 10.

Garcia's best single-round score in the Open Championship was a 65 which he recorded in the third round in 2006, as well as in the first round in 2007.

Sergio Garcia British Open Prediction & Pick

Garcia is a hard golfer to judge now that he's no longer in his prime. On one hand, he hasn't had much success on the 2022 PGA TOUR. Althoug he has a pair of top-25 finishes in his last five events, he's failed to make the cut three times over that stretch — including at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open.

On the other hand, it's hard to ignore the 42-year-old's Open Championship history. Even if it's been six years since he last cracked the top 10, it was just last year when he finished T-19 at Royal St. George's.

Bettors shouldn't expect a deep run for Garcia, especially when taking his recent play into consideration. However, I do think he'll at least make the cut this time around and there's decent value to be had by going with a top-40 finish at +150.
