Rumors Link Titans to Star Quarterback Ahead of Free Agency
Updated:
The Tennessee Titans have a few major questions to answer this offseason. The biggest pertains to quarterback with longtime signal-caller Ryan Tannehill's future up in the air.
If the Titans do move on from Tannehill, it turns out they could pursue a big-name replacement in free agency.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Tennessee is among the teams that would "consider" signing Tom Brady in free agency. It's unclear if Brady will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, which could open the door for a potential move.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner has an obvious connection to Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, whom he won three rings with while they both played for the New England Patriots. The two are friends and have had some funny exchanges with each other recently, showing their bond is still strong today.
The appeal of reuniting with Vrabel could help sway Brady in the Titans' favor. Teaming up with a true star running back in Derrick Henry, plus intriguing rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks, and playing in a weaker division also helps Tennessee's recruiting case.
Brady's future, which could include retirement or playing another year, is something the entire league will keep a close eye on this offseason.
