Notre Dame's Iconic 'Play Like a Champion Today' Sign Hilariously Repurposed

Everything about Notre Dame football is steeped in rich history and tradition. One of the iconic pieces of the program is the famous "play like a champion today" sign in the tunnel at Notre Dame Stadium.

The sign was repurposed ahead of a Mass being held at the stadium on Thursday, and the change was pretty hilarious.

Making the sign more appropriate for the priests heading to Mass, a quick letter change made the sign read: "pray like a champion today."

Even funnier than the change itself is this perfect photo capturing the priests tapping the sign on their way out, just like Notre Dame players do before a home game.

Notre Dame, playing in the ACC for the 2020 season, had their official schedule released on Thursday. They will open the season at home against Duke on Saturday, September 12.
