One team that's no stranger to Christmas Day action is the New York Knicks. Here's everything you need to know about the Knicks' history on Christmas. 

Knicks Christmas Game History

The NBA made its Christmas Day debut in 1947, and the holiday has been a constant part of the league's regular-season schedule ever since.

The Knicks were part of the inaugural Christmas festivities, playing the Providence Steamrollers on Dec. 25, 1947. New York won that game 89-75, giving the franchise its first-ever win on that date.

The Knicks have been a regular part of the league's Christmas schedule, appearing on the holiday nearly every year. It's no surprise, then, that New York holds the NBA record for most Christmas games played (54) in league history.

New York's most recent Dec. 25th appearance came in 2022, as the Knicks hosted the Philadelphia 76ers to kick things off. Unfortunately New York couldn't get it done in front of its home crowd, falling 119-112. Julius Randle paced the Knicks with 35 points.
