The 2023 French Open tennis tournament started on Sunday, May 28, and the 128-player field is now down to just eight players and preparing to enter the quarterfinals. No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz is still alive, as is No. 3 seed Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz (+115) remains the favorite to win the tournament, but Djokovic (+165) is not far behind. After winning the 2023 Australian Open, Djokovic is continuing his quest for the Grand Slam, a feat he fell just short of in 2022.

2023 Men's French Open Format

The French Open begins with 132 players in a traditional single-elimination bracket format. Each round, that number is cut in half until a champion is crowned. Matches are played on clay courts, something the French Open is famous for. All men's matches are in the traditional five-set format and the top 32 players are assigned seeds.
