Maryland Bowl Game History
College football fans shouldn't be surprised to learn that Maryland has built a solid bowl game history over the years. The Terrapins have played in a total of 29 bowl games all-time.
Maryland's first bowl game appearance came in the 1948 Gator Bowl under head coach Jim Tatum. The Terrapins played the Georgia Bulldogs to a 20-20 tie and their first bowl win did not come until two years later. They took down the Missouri Tigers by a score of 20-7 during the 1950 Gator Bowl.
The Terrapins' most recent bowl appearance came in the 2022 Duke's Mayo Bowl. Maryland emerged victorious, defeating NC State 16-12.
