Luke Musgrave Scouting Report
Musgrave is the prototypical prospect who didn't produce a ton in college but has scouts excited because of his potential. The pass-catching TE has plenty of physical talent, boasting great size (6-foot-6, 253 pounds) and speed (4.61-second 40-yard dash) to be a matchup nightmare at the next level.
However, the Oregon native simply didn't show off his skills a lot in college, playing in six games or fewer in three of his four seasons. Even when he suited up in 10 contests during the 2021 campaign, Musgrave put up a meager 22 receptions and 304 yards, which were both his highs at Oregon State.
Musgrave moves like a big wide receiver, and teams will salivate over what he could become. It remains to be seen if he can live up to the hype, however.
Luke Musgrave NFL Draft Prediction
Musgrave's potential to develop into a top threat from the TE position has made him a buzzy prospect ahead of the draft. It seems unlikely he'll last past Day 2 with how many teams need help at the position.
The Green Bay Packers could be the perfect fit for Musgrave. Green Bay is set to enter a youth movement with Jordan Love at quarterback, so Brian Gutekunst can afford to take a flyer on a high-upside talent like Musgrave. The Oregon State product wouldn't be required to do a ton of heavy lifting on a team with low expectations, which should afford him the time he needs to develop.
With a massive hole at TE as well, Musgrave would have plenty of reps to hone his craft after irregular playing time in college. The Packers will need to pounce, though, if they want to nab the in-demand prospect.
Prediction: Green Bay Packers (Round 2, 45th overall)
