List of NFL Bye Weeks by Team for 2022 Fantasy Football Season Week 7

Updated:

The 2022 NFL season has officially reached Week 7, and that means bye weeks are in full swing. There's several teams that won't be in action this weekend, removing plenty of important players from fantasy football lineups.

Here's everything fantasy managers need to know about upcoming byes in Week 7.

What Does Bye Mean in Fantasy Football?

A bye in football is when a team doesn't have a game scheduled for that week. This off time is crucial for squads given the long grind that is an NFL season. Having a week away from practice and game prep gives players time to rest or heal from any injuries they're dealing with. It also allows coaches to take stock of their rosters and consider implementing any changes for the following game.

Since players on byes don't have a game that week, they need to be removed from fantasy football starting lineups and placed on the bench. This has to be manually done, though. Otherwise those inactive players will stay in lineups and post zero points for teams given they're not participating in any matchup.

What NFL Teams Have a Bye This Week?

In Week 7 of the 2022 season, four teams will be on byes. They are the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles.

That means important fantasy football players like Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will all be sidelined. Managers need to place these players on their benches to avoid getting zeroes from inactive players.

Fantasy Bye Week Strategy

Given the amount of fantasy-relevant players off in Week 7, managers may find themselves scrambling for replacements, especially since the first byes of the season have arrived so quickly. There's still plenty of time to figure out your lineups, though.

The waive wire is the prime destination to go for bye-week fillers. Running backs rostered in 50% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues right now include Kenyan Drake (5%), Mike Boone (38%) and Latavius Murray (15%). For anyone needing to fill a hole at RB, these players should be top targets.

Wide receiver options in Week 7 include Wan'Dale Robinson (8%), Alec Pierce (38%), Jahan Dotson (36%), Rondale Moore (46%) and Michael Gallup (50%). For tight end, streaming options are available, including the likes of Robert Tonyan (43%), Evan Engram (36%) and Tyler Conklin (26%). The same applies for quarterbacks, including Jimmy Garoppolo (39%), Daniel Jones (30%) and Marcus Mariota (15%).

Managers shouldn't just rely on picking up fill-in players for that week, though. It's important to know your key players' schedules and plan ahead if they have upcoming byes. That way you can add players now that won't be as in-demand if you need them for Week 8 or beyond. This is how smart managers get a leg up on their leaguemates.

How Many Bye Weeks in NFL?

Each NFL team has just one bye week during the 2022 season. Some happen to fall earlier in the year, while others can be much later. It's important to know when your starting players will be off in order to make moves that will keep you winning despite their absences.
