Lakers' Odds to Make NBA Playoffs Favor Team to Miss Postseason on FanDuel Sportsbook

The Los Angeles Lakers' 2021-22 NBA season has gone far from planned. Injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis have certainly played a role in the team fighting for a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament, but it's also clear the addition of Russell Westbrook hasn't worked out as intended.

Now the Lakers are on the cusp of missing the postseason altogether. The odds on FanDuel Sportsbook favor Los Angeles missing the NBA Playoffs with just five regular season games left on the schedule.

Lakers Odds to Make Playoffs

The Lakers currently own +1500 odds to make the playoffs, compared to overwhelming -6000 odds to miss the postseason. That paints a pessimistic picture in regards to Los Angeles rallying down the stretch to salvage its season.

Making the Play-In Tournament is the Lakers' only hope at this point, but a recent losing stretch has seen the San Antonio Spurs jump past them for the final spot in the tourney. LA is now in 11th place with a 31-46 record, while the Spurs are No. 10 with a 32-45 record heading into the final week of the season.

The odds are against the Lakers when it comes to the Play-In Tournament as well. They have the longest odds at +440 to make the tourney, while the Spurs (-750) have the clear edge to secure the final spot.

The Lakers will face a tough test to end their year, facing the Denver Nuggets twice, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder over their final five games.

LA sits at +27000 (No. 19) to win the NBA Finals, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
