Josh Allen Reveals More Details From Heated Exchange With Christian Wilkins

Updated:

Amidst all the chaos that was a thrilling Week 3 contest between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, quarterback Josh Allen was flagged for a personal foul after he ripped defensive tackle Christian Wilkins' helmet off. It's an incident he revealed more details about in a recent podcast appearance.

Allen spoke on Kyle Brandt's Basement and dove into why exactly he "saw red" in a scrum at the bottom of the pile. He made it obvious that Wilkins grabbed his crotch, which lines up with the gesture he made toward referees after the flag was thrown. He felt a response was necessary.

What was more interesting about Allen's comments was that he suggested Wilkins has built a reputation for actions like that, which dates back to his playing days as a Clemson Tiger. Wilkins spoke after the dramatic Miami victory and simply said, "with alpha males, that's how it goes."

Keep in mind there is a bit of history between these two pros as well. They got mixed up when the Dolphins came to Highmark Stadium in 2021 and a video of Allen waving goodbye to Wilkins after a Bills win went viral. These two teams meet again in front of the Buffalo faithful in late December.

Allen thinks a fine may be coming his way, but hopes those in charge also take a look at what players other than himself did in that situation. For now, the Bills remain the favorite to win the AFC East with odds set at -240, while the Dolphins have odds set at +210, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
